While the GCP Glass Fill and Seal cannot be cured with conventional composite curing light, it can be cured with specifically directed high power energy, enabling thermocure without any damage to pulpal tissues.. The light was developed especially by GCP Dental and is an integral part of the Glass Carbomer™ Tech. The GCP CarboLED CL-02 thermo-cure light enables excellent results quickly. GCP Fill or Seal and the Crown and Bridge cement absorb the energy completely and safely. The targeted energy is converted into an extremely strong, durable and definitive restoration. The battery design enables the light to maintain its output for the 60-90 seconds illumination generally required for thermocure of larger molar restorations.
Universal light for use with practically all restorative products.
With the fast increasing popularity of GCP Glass Carbomer™ restoratives there was an increasing demand from dentists for a universal light. GCP Dental responded by developing a light that is programmed to cure both glass ionomer and glass carbomer™ as well as composites. The GCP CarboLED CL-02 is therefore unique and suitable for every modern dental practice.
Equipped for long-term, intensive usage.
The CarboLED CL-02 is made of a solid silver-enriched aluminum alloy. The surface is anodized, which makes it extremely strong and scratch-resistant. The robust design, together with the transparent light conductor, ensures that the electronics, including the light itself, are not exposed to thermal overload. The light is lightweight, has practical feedback functions, a perfectly ergonomic shape and is comfortable in the hand.

Simple to use and reliable.
The light is wireless and operated by just three buttons. The light has various protective features such as an LED thermal cut-out (“HH”) and automatic shut-off if the battery is low (“bL”). The battery level can also be verified at all times.
The transfer of energy in a straight column, when the end of the light is placed directly on the restoration, is fast and highly effective. This thermocure procedure performed directly on the restoration optimises the properties of GCP Glass Carbomer™ Tech. It is important that the light is held in contact with the restoration. The procedure should be repeated for larger restorations treating the mesial and distal aspects separately. This technique can also be used on glass ionomers.
